Macao and Art

Not much information regarding this one, just look at the pictures then!

Bloc Mickey at Times Square

These have been sitting in my computer for a while now!

I didn’t spell it wrong, either, it’s really called “Bloc Mickey.”  I don’t know what it was about, but maybe a show for artists to reinterpret the mouse?

Shatin New Town Plaza

I had to go lead a couple of tours at the Museum of Heritage in Shatin.  9J and I accidentally discovered a rooftop garden on top of the New Town Plaza!  It’d have been nice if it weren’t so hot that day!

More newspaper city

Here are more pictures of the “Newspaper City” I posted about before:

The are is by a British artist Su Blackwell.

Noah’s Ark at Ma Wan (Park Island)

I went with some friends and (of course) 9J to the Noah’s Ark theme park/museum at Ma Wan in Hong Kong.  It tells the story of how Noah built a big ship to contain all of God’s creation to avoid being flooded.  We didn’t go through the whole park because we only had half a day and we only bought the type of ticket package that allowed us to go into two sections of the place.  After visiting Noah’s Ark we went to the park across the road called the Ma Wan Park.  It’s a free public park but I think it is also managed by the same church group that manages Noah’s Ark.  There’s also a hotel and a hostel on top of the Ark and they are managed by the YMCA of Hong Kong.

Science Museum ~ part of the Permanent Exhibition

I went with 9J to see an exhibition called “Candy Unwrapped” at the Science Museum.  However, because there were so many pictures, I selected some that belonged to the permanent exhibition for this post.  The ones we took at the special exhibition will be posted later, so stay tuned!

Newspaper Buildings

Hi, it’s me, 9J, again!

Last Sunday Anita went to the Heritage Museum to lead some tours.  I tagged along to offer her moral support.

At the New Town Plaza in Shatin, we encountered a strange cityscape…

The Hong Kong Jockey Club – “Old Factory, Emerging Arts”

The Hong Kong Jockey Club had donated a lot of money to revitalize an old factory building in Shek Kip Mei and turned it into a workshop for artists, called the Jockey Club Creative Art Center.  9J and I went to visit an exhibition about this transformation at the Racing Museum in Happy Valley.
