I had to go lead a couple of tours at the Museum of Heritage in Shatin. 9J and I accidentally discovered a rooftop garden on top of the New Town Plaza! It’d have been nice if it weren’t so hot that day!

Noah’s Ark at Ma Wan (Park Island)

I went with some friends and (of course) 9J to the Noah’s Ark theme park/museum at Ma Wan in Hong Kong. It tells the story of how Noah built a big ship to contain all of God’s creation to avoid being flooded. We didn’t go through the whole park because we only had half a day and we only bought the type of ticket package that allowed us to go into two sections of the place. After visiting Noah’s Ark we went to the park across the road called the Ma Wan Park. It’s a free public park but I think it is also managed by the same church group that manages Noah’s Ark. There’s also a hotel and a hostel on top of the Ark and they are managed by the YMCA of Hong Kong.
- On our way there we saw these painted under a bridge.
- Tsing Ma Bridge, connecting Tsing Yi and Ma Wan islands

I went with 9J to see an exhibition called “Candy Unwrapped” at the Science Museum. However, because there were so many pictures, I selected some that belonged to the permanent exhibition for this post. The ones we took at the special exhibition will be posted later, so stay tuned!
- Wonky Fun House!
- Spinning Tunnel
- The Tractor with the Teddy
- Scary mannekins with projected faces: they were supposed to be news anchors.

Hi, it’s me, 9J, again!
Last Sunday Anita went to the Heritage Museum to lead some tours. I tagged along to offer her moral support.
At the New Town Plaza in Shatin, we encountered a strange cityscape…
At the Heritage Museum

I can only call this post “at the Heritage Museum” but not refer to any specific exhibition because I could not take pictures in it. So, here you are… in the proximity of “The Golden Age of Couture (aka the Dior show).”
- And some pictures of the birds on the river outside.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club – “Old Factory, Emerging Arts”

The Hong Kong Jockey Club had donated a lot of money to revitalize an old factory building in Shek Kip Mei and turned it into a workshop for artists, called the Jockey Club Creative Art Center. 9J and I went to visit an exhibition about this transformation at the Racing Museum in Happy Valley.

Louis Vuitton — A Passion for Creation

I went with 9J to the exhibition called Louis Vuitton – A Passion for Creation at the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
- Wrapped Museum
- Tickets, program, and a sticker which has to be displayed on your clothing at all times, to distinguish you from the other visitors who didn’t pay the heftier price to see this special show.
- Of course, photograpy is not allowed inside the galleries. This display is on the outside.
- At the King Ludwig German Restaurant. I discovered that I like Saurkraut.
Not that impressed, I must say. It could be me not understanding Modern Art enough. I saw one young couple taking snapshots of the exhibits where they clearly could not. Even worse, in another gallery they started TOUCHING THE EXHIBITS! This really gets my goat and I had to tell the security officers about this. One of them went over to tell them off. However, what I don’t understand is: there were at least half a dozen officers in each room, how come no one saw what happened and I had to tell them?
After the visit we went to a German restaurant called “King Ludwig” where they have this delicious beer that I like (Meisel Weisse).

We went to tea at Cova Caffe again, after attending a lecture on the history of Causeway Bay at the Heritage Discovery Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui.

They didn’t have that raspberry cereal cake I liked.
